What is Wuthering Waves?
Wuthering Waves is a free-to-play open-world action role-playing gacha game developed and published by Kuro Games. It launched on Windows, Android and iOS on 23 May 2024, followed by PlayStation 5 on 2 January 2025, macOS on 27 March 2025 and Xbox Series X/S on 10 July 2026. The game is set on the planet Solaris-3, where a catastrophe called the Lament wiped out most of humanity and left behind hostile entities known as Tacet Discords; survivors rebuilt across regions including Huanglong, Rinascita and Lahai-Roi. You play as Rover, a protagonist who can be male or female, and recruit playable allies called Resonators that come in 4-star and 5-star rarities. Kuro Games reported more than 30 million pre-registrations across over 100 regions before launch.
